2015
A private sourcing network
Runelis began discreetly between London, Tokyo and Singapore, working with private collectors, athlete foundations and private estates.
Milestone 1Since 2015
Before Runelis became a global technology platform, it was a discreet sourcing network for cultural assets that rarely reached public auction boards.
The network operated between London, Tokyo and Singapore, sourcing directly from private collectors, athlete foundations and private estates. Its remit ranged from match-worn European football jerseys to original production cels from Japanese animation studios.
In those formative years, the initiative worked under the name Relique, acting as a private custodian and forensic research partner for rare memorabilia.

2015
Runelis began discreetly between London, Tokyo and Singapore, working with private collectors, athlete foundations and private estates.
Milestone 12018
As transaction volumes grew, paper COAs, unverified dealer claims and disconnected regional records exposed a systemic weakness across the collectibles market.
Milestone 22020
The mandate shifted from bespoke brokerage to building institutional-grade verification and provenance infrastructure for cultural assets.
Milestone 32024
Computer vision became part of a broader evidence-led process, supporting material analysis, image matching and signature review at scale.
Milestone 4Collector corridors
Runelis established specialist operating footprints across the United States, Germany and Hong Kong to connect cultural expertise, source markets and the world’s most active collector hubs.
Germany
2021–2023
From Munich, Runelis developed procurement channels with club foundations, certified kit custodians and licensed distributors across the Bundesliga, Premier League, La Liga and Serie A, alongside archival logistics teams connected to European motorsport.
Hong Kong
2022–2024
The Hong Kong footprint connected East Asian cultural markets with talent agencies, esports organizers and production archives across Tokyo and Seoul, covering stage apparel, tournament-used hardware, manga artwork and original anime production cels.
United States
2023–Present
With operating touchpoints in Delaware and New York, Runelis anchors its technology infrastructure and institutional relationships in the United States, working across sports-memorabilia networks and private-wealth channels.
From paper claims to connected evidence
By 2018, one problem had become clear: provenance was fragmented. Unlike fine art, much of the collectibles economy still depended on vulnerable paper certificates, unverifiable dealer claims and disconnected regional databases.
In 2020, Relique became Runelis. The mission moved beyond private brokerage to a system designed to document evidence, custody and ownership in one durable record.
AI-assisted, evidence-led
Since 2024, Runelis has used computer vision within its authentication workflow to compare material and signature characteristics against high-resolution historical references. Relevant match-day sources may include Getty Images and official league archives where available.
